Coating and fusing

The coating and fusing processes provide durability and protection against impact, abrasion, corrosion and friction to a work piece.

It consists of applying a wear resistant nickel alloys to a piece surface and fuse by heating, so a coating is created.

In general, fusing is applied either to new parts where wear or corrosion is anticipated or to worn parts to replace metal lost through wear or corrosion.

Fusing is very often accomplished manually using a simple oxy-acetylene torch. However, for higher production volumes or mass production, fully automated systems can be used to apply the coatings and fusing can be batch processed in furnaces or accomplished using induction coils.
